Security Risk Management (SRM)
The management of risk is business critical for the mitigation of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems, or from external events.
We offer an established, proven, and scalable approach that includes the development of risk mitigation strategies based on:
- Assessment of the current risk environment
- Assessment of the required risk environment
Gap analysis, and a transition plan to achieve the desired operational risk environment
Our approach incorporates the use of appropriate technology and practices aligned to meet the identified risk areas and required business objectives.
Our Security Risk Assessment (SRA) method seeks to identify the assets and resources of an organisation; identify risks and threats; existing or proposed protective security measures, and determine the effects on the facility, the delivery of service, or users of and visitors to the facility, if threats were realised.
Organisational security is an essential component for any project. From green field infrastructure developments to government facility refurbishment, Canion’s technology engineers will ensure your organisation’s business requirements and risks are mitigated.
We collaborate with both private sector and government clients to design robust, reliable and integrated security solutions that help protect your assets – whether they are people, infrastructure, operations or intelligence.
Our team has delivered auditing, design, specification, installation, commissioning, maintenance and support of infrastructure and technology systems for a wide range of clients.
With the know-how and flexibility, Canions customise security solutions to meet specific client, industry or project needs.

Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED)
CPTED’s popularity is increasing as architects, town planners, councils, developers and law enforcement include its principles and applications in developments. The aim of CPTED is to encourage the use of space by legitimate persons, while discouraging use by undesirable parties.
CPTED strategies are highly effective, unobtrusive and largely unnoticed by users.
Basic principles/strategies:
- Natural access control with psychological barriers to potential offenders.
- Natural surveillance by legitimate users
- Territorial reinforcement that promotes a sense of ownership by users and alienates offenders
Applications:
- CPTED can be implemented in any situation involving the use of space
- It is especially useful for public spaces and large areas
- CPTED works from spaces as small as a single room to as large as an entire community
